Try a 3M Finnesse it or similar prodict and followed with a good quality wax. Be sure it has UV inhibitors.

Staining white vinyl on fiberglass doors?

I’m in the process of staining some fiberglass stain grade entry doors to look like real wood. They are coming out awesome, but there is a white plastic trim that goes around the glass(mini blinds inside the glass) that won’t take stain. I’m using gel stain and have tried applying it many different ways as to make it match the doors. Neither the manufacturer or the retailer have been any help with this issue, so if anyone out there has any experience with this your help is greatly appreciated!

Prime the vinyl with a suitable primer. Paint it the same color as the fiberglass is, and stain that. Maybe, since the strip is small, painting it will blend in.

Molds built for laying up GRP are quite different to mold forms used for injection, rotational molding of other types of plastic material. There are some commercial boats and tenders around built of welded heavy duty black poly tubing sections – much like the aluminium duckies they mimic the form of an inflatable boat.
It is possible to use the mold with vacuum bagging techniques, but you will find little easy about using a thermoplastic, and keeping it hot enough to shape finely. The reason GRP in the accepted sense is used so much is that it is very easy and well understood – today even a backyarder can use epoxy resins and vacuum infusion processes to achieve very light and strong sections – if other materials were an improvement they would be commercially used rather than the good old lay up method.

That’s easy! You just make the mould and lay fiberglass strips on it. Although be carful, it’s not healthy to breathe it. I’d reccomed looking up step by step instructions. If you really want a job that uses fiberglass, boat making uses that. Many kayaks and motor boats are made out of fiberglass these days

Anywhere from a couple of hundred dollars used to about $ 2,000 new. There are quite a few styles and options. ARE has an MSRP for the cap and any options. The dealer, depending on how many they sell will have their price list. Then there is a shipping charge to get it to them. On top of that they have the cost of the clamps, sealing tape and wiring for a third brake light if the truck was equipped with one from the manufacturer. Some dealers include that in their prices while others will go low on the cap price then add it on.
You can go on the ARE website, locate the dealers in your area and call for prices in your area.

My husband and I just bought a used Chevy Cheyenne with a neat camper. It has a full rear door that replaces the tailgate and I cant find anything online like it. The forward window to the camper is missing, as is the rear truck window glass. We’d like to close off both but want to be able to see the kids in the camper.
